Choosing a children’s sewing or cross-stitch kit
Felt pictures — ages 6+: Fanfan the Elephant, Romain the Rabbit and Tony the Tiger use a perforated felt base, yarn, adhesive felt details and a plastic needle. They make flat pictures for display, not stuffed toys. Follow the included steps together; adult supervision is recommended.
Key rings — ages 10+: Flip & Flap and Mini & Maxi use pre-punched wooden shapes to make two cross-stitch key rings per kit. They include a metal needle and small parts, so keep the age guidance and adult supervision in mind.
Check what the project needs: Read each listing for exact contents and finished dimensions. The two formats use different materials and instructions; do not assume every children’s craft kit has the same tools. Framing for the felt pictures is not included.
