Tex confirms the progression. Maraflex is not the next step on this ladder; it is selected for elasticity.

Maraflex setup
For the intended stretch performance, use Maraflex in both the needle and bobbin. Ordinary bobbin thread can restrict the seam.
150m or 1,500m? Choose 150m for occasional projects. Choose 1,500m for frequent sewing or production; domestic machines normally require a suitable cone stand.

Mara is the 100% polyester MCT® family for standard and decorative seams. Maraflex is specialist elastic PBT thread. Choose Mara by stitch weight; choose Maraflex for seam stretch.
Yes. Use Maraflex as both needle and bobbin thread for the intended stretch performance, with low balanced tension and approximately four stitches per centimetre.
Choose 150m for occasional domestic projects. Choose 1,500m for frequent sewing, alterations or production; most domestic machines require an external cone stand.
