Fabric Shavers & Lint Removers NZ
GARMENT CARE · LINT · PILLS & FUZZ
Refresh suitable garments and knitwear with fabric shavers, lint removers, manual combs and a garment brush. Compare the method and fabric guidance for each tool, from powered shaving to gentle surface brushing.
Choosing a fabric shaver or lint-removal tool
Powered shavers: Singer and Philips fabric shavers remove surface pills from suitable fabrics. Compare each model’s power arrangement, working surface and cleaning instructions. Follow its directions for fabric positioning and pressure; the powered models do not all have the same charging or battery system.
Manual combs and lint removal: Prym and Lumos combs offer manual care for suitable knitted surfaces. The Prym wool comb is intended for close-knit wool and is not suited to loose, fluffy yarns. The Singer travel lint remover is a separate portable garment-care option; check its product instructions before use.
Brushing is a different care step: The Knitting Barber garment brush lifts surface lint, hair and dry debris between washes. It is not a powered pill shaver. Choose the tool for the surface problem and the garment’s fibre and construction.
Test before treating the whole garment: Read the care label and try a hidden area first. Work gently and stop if fibres pull, snag or lift. Delicate, open or fuzzy fabrics need particular care. Keep blades and working surfaces clean as directed by the selected tool’s instructions.
