Can the SINGER 4411 sew denim and canvas?
Yes, the 4411 is designed for sturdier domestic sewing such as denim and canvas. Results still depend on the density and number of layers, seam bulk, needle, thread, foot and speed. Use the correct fresh needle, test the thickest intersection and never force the fabric.
Can it sew leather?
It can sew selected light leather or faux-leather projects with a material-appropriate needle, thread, foot and settings. Needle holes are permanent, so test first. The 4411 is not an industrial walking-foot leather machine and should not be presented as suitable for unrestricted leather thicknesses.
Does the 4411 have a built-in needle threader?

What needles should I use?
Use domestic sewing-machine needles in the correct type and size for the material: universal for many wovens, jeans/denim for dense denim, ballpoint or stretch for knits, and leather needles only for suitable leather. Replace a bent, blunt or damaged needle immediately.
Can it sew stretch fabrics?
The zigzag and suitable utility formations can be used on some stretch projects with the correct ballpoint/stretch needle and setup. If knit garments will be a large part of your sewing, the 4423, 4432 or 4452 adds a dedicated group of stretch stitches.
Can I lower the feed dogs?
Yes. The drop-feed lever lowers the feed teeth for sewing on buttons and guided free-motion work. Move the lever back and turn the handwheel one complete turn to re-engage the feed teeth.
