Match the knife to the cut.

Choose from art and precision knives, snap-off utility cutters and a self-retracting safety knife for suitable craft and workroom materials. Compare the blade system and intended material on each listing. The separate 25mm refill pack is a replacement-blade purchase, not another complete knife.

Choosing a craft knife, utility knife or refill

Detail work or heavier cutting? Pen-style art and precision knives suit controlled trimming and detail work in the materials listed for the tool. The 9mm, 18mm and 25mm utility knives offer different blade widths and handling. Choose for the material and required cut, rather than assuming the widest blade is best for every project.

Match the replacement system. The listed OLFA HBB-5B pack contains five 25mm snap-off blades for knives that accept that blade system. It does not replace the 9mm or 18mm blades, an art-knife blade or every safety-knife blade. Check the exact model and accepted refill before ordering; this collection does not provide a spare pack for every knife shown.

Check material and surface suitability. Follow the selected knife’s instructions and test on a spare piece of the material. Thickness and density affect the result. Choose a suitable protected cutting surface from the existing mats and rulers range, checking the mat maker’s permitted tools.

Understand the mechanism. Snap-off utility blades, replaceable precision blades and the SK-12 self-retracting safety knife use different operating methods. Follow the tool’s directions for blade exposure, changing, retraction and storage. Powered cutters, hot knives, buttonhole chisels and rotary-cutter blades are separate systems.
