Choosing a buttonhole or button-sewing foot
Two different tasks: A button-sewing foot holds a suitable button while the machine stitches through its holes. A buttonhole foot guides the stitched opening in the fabric. Choose the task first, then the exact foot required by your machine’s button or buttonhole function.
Match the automatic system: One-step, four-step and automatic buttonhole functions do not share one universal foot. Check the full machine model, part reference, holder and any lever, sensor, connector or stabiliser-plate requirements in the listing and manual.
Part versions matter: Janome uses more than one Foot R. Match the exact reference and model rather than choosing only by a 7mm or 9mm label. The Juki automatic buttonhole foot listed here is for its named DX, F, UX and NX machines; it is a different reference from the HZL-G foot.
Use the current range accurately: Domestic feet narrows this collection and Show all resets it. No industrial buttonhole foot is currently included here; Industrial feet opens the broader industrial-foot collection. Follow the selected machine’s setup and test on the same fabric and interfacing as your project.
