Bag Making Hardware NZ
The finishing details that make a bag.
Find bag-making hardware for handles, adjustable straps and closures. Shop ByAnnie and Hemline D-rings, rectangle and triangle rings, sliders, swivel hooks, buckles and magnetic fasteners. Match the opening size to your finished strap width.
Choosing the right bag hardware
Which hardware size fits my strap?
Use the finished strap width and the hardware’s internal opening, not its outside measurement. The range includes 1-inch and 1.5-inch ByAnnie fittings plus metric Hemline options. Check your pattern and the individual listing before pairing a ring, slider and swivel hook.
Rings, sliders, swivel hooks or buckles?
D-rings, rectangles and triangles provide attachment points. A slider or adjuster lets a strap change length. Swivel hooks make a strap detachable, while a side-release buckle provides an opening in the strap itself. Buy the combination specified by your bag pattern rather than assuming every shape performs the same job.
Sew-in magnets versus magnetic clasps
These closures have different fitting methods. Sew-in magnets are enclosed and positioned within fabric layers; a magnetic clasp is fitted according to its own instructions. Check the required reinforcement, orientation and pack contents before installation.
Complete your bag-making kit
Check whether a pack contains one fitting, a pair or a complete closure set. Coordinate finishes where that matters to your design. For eyelets, press studs and fitting tools, use the dedicated collections linked below; these are separate fastener systems.
