Needles & finishing tools
Holme: 3.75mm and 4mm straight needles, plus a 3.75mm circular needle measuring 40cm. Holme requires stitch holders and a cable needle. The 40cm-labelled cable pairs with short 10cm tips.
Sandringham: 3.5mm circular needle no longer than 60cm. The package supplies a 60cm cable with regular tips. Sandringham requires two stitch markers and a waist-length piece of 2.5cm-wide elastic. Elastic is a separate purchase; measure and fit it as instructed in the pattern. Use a 60cm-labelled cable with regular tips; this is within Rowan’s maximum of 60cm.
Sandringham: 3.5mm circular needle no longer than 80cm. The package supplies a 80cm cable with regular tips. Sandringham requires two stitch markers and a waist-length piece of 2.5cm-wide elastic. Elastic is a separate purchase; measure and fit it as instructed in the pattern. Use a 80cm-labelled cable with regular tips; this is within Rowan’s maximum of 80cm.
Sandringham: 3.5mm circular needle no longer than 100cm. The package supplies a 100cm cable with regular tips. Sandringham requires two stitch markers and a waist-length piece of 2.5cm-wide elastic. Elastic is a separate purchase; measure and fit it as instructed in the pattern. Use a 100cm-labelled cable with regular tips; this is within Rowan’s maximum of 100cm.
Sandringham: 3.5mm circular needle no longer than 110cm. The package supplies a 100cm cable with regular tips. Sandringham requires two stitch markers and a waist-length piece of 2.5cm-wide elastic. Elastic is a separate purchase; measure and fit it as instructed in the pattern. Use a 100cm-labelled cable with regular tips; this is within Rowan’s maximum of 110cm.
Sandringham: 3.5mm circular needle no longer than 120cm. The package supplies a 120cm cable with regular tips. Sandringham requires two stitch markers and a waist-length piece of 2.5cm-wide elastic. Elastic is a separate purchase; measure and fit it as instructed in the pattern. Use a 120cm-labelled cable with regular tips; this is within Rowan’s maximum of 120cm.
A tapestry needle, measuring tape and scissors are useful finishing tools; these are not automatically added.
Tension & care
Holme: 20 stitches × 36 rows to 10cm over moss stitch using 4mm needles; the 16-stitch cable panel is 5cm wide.
Sandringham: 36 stitches × 36 rounds to 10cm over unstretched rib using 3.5mm circular needles.
Make a tension square and adjust your needle size if needed. Follow the yarn label for care instructions.

Before you begin
Can I use my own tools or pattern?
Yes. Select only what you need. Check needle diameters and circular lengths before choosing own tools or cables. Own cables removes the cables and any connector from the package, while retaining the needle tips.
Can I make more than one project?
Add one project at a time, then return to choose the next. Include the leaflet once and untick it for later additions. Buy the full yarn quantity for each project.
