The Newlong HR-4A carpet overlocker creates a three-thread overedge finish around carpet edges. Designed for specialist carpet work, it is a different machine from a garment overlocker—built for edging rugs, mats and suitable automotive carpet pieces.

Purpose-built edge finishing
- Three-thread overedging: wraps the cut edge with a visible stitched finish.
- Servo speed control: adjust the sewing pace to suit handling and material.
- Flat-bed, plain-feed design: supports the carpet as you guide it past the needle.

Not a tape binder: the HR-4A forms a thread-overlocked edge rather than attaching binding tape.

Choose the setup around your carpet. Tell us the carpet type, backing, edge shape and preferred finish. Machine capability is not a guarantee that every carpet or tight curve can be sewn without a material trial.

Is this suitable for normal clothing seams?
The HR-4A is a specialist carpet overedger, not an everyday clothing overlocker. If you need to sew garments, ask us about an industrial garment overlocker instead.
Can it finish curved mats?
Suitability depends on the curve, carpet backing and handling requirements. Show us your intended mat shape and carpet sample so we can check the application before you order.
Does it need maintenance?
Yes. Follow the correct oiling, threading and cleaning instructions. Carpet fibres and lint should be cleared regularly, with the machine switched off before cleaning or adjustment.
