Overlockers can appear complicated because several tensions, thread paths and adjustments work together to form each stitch.
The Elina Pro helps simplify that process with a programme reference panel built into the front of the machine.
Select the required stitch programme and the panel displays the recommended tension settings, stitch length, differential feed, needle position and other machine adjustments.
These recommendations provide a reliable starting point. Fine adjustments can then be made to suit the exact fabric, thread and desired finish.
An overlocker complements a sewing machine
The Elina Pro trims raw fabric edges and forms an overlocked stitch around them for professional seam construction and finishing.
It does not replace every function of a conventional sewing machine. Straight stitching, buttonholes, zips and most topstitching are still completed on a sewing machine.
The Elina Pro does not form a coverstitch. A separate coverstitch machine is required for the parallel twin or triple-needle hems commonly seen on T-shirts.

Three-thread overlocking
Three-thread configurations are ideal when the main objective is to finish and protect a raw edge.
Use the left needle for a wider stitch or the right needle for a narrower finish.
Three-thread overlocking is useful on woven seam allowances, decorative edging and areas where a four-thread construction seam is unnecessary.

Built-in two-thread converter
The built-in converter allows the machine to form selected stitches using one needle thread and the lower looper thread.
Two-thread overcasting is useful for lightweight and delicate materials where a heavier three or four-thread stitch may add unnecessary bulk.
The converter is integrated into the machine, so there is no small loose component to install and remove during ordinary conversion.
Adjustable differential feed
Two sets of feed dogs move the fabric beneath the foot at independently controlled rates.
Increase the differential feed when knit fabric is stretching or waving as it passes through the machine.
Reduce the setting when lightweight woven fabric puckers, or use the feed difference intentionally to create gathering and decorative lettuce-edge effects.

Fast conversion for fine decorative edges
Instant rolled-hem system
Move the built-in rolled-hem control to retract the stitch finger without removing the needle plate.
The thread then rolls around the cut edge to create a narrow, compact finish.
Rolled hems are ideal for scarves, napkins, ruffles, frills, lightweight garments and decorative edges.

Choose a fine lightweight finish or a fuller three-thread rolled edge according to the fabric and desired appearance.
Self-threading lower looper
The Elina Pro includes a mechanism designed to assist with threading the lower looper.
This reduces the need to reach deeply into the lower mechanism and makes complete rethreading less intimidating.
Colour-coded threading routes and the front programme guide provide further visual assistance.
For correct stitch formation, thread the machine in the order stated in the instruction manual. When completely rethreading an Elna overlocker, the loopers are threaded before the needles.
Tilting needle-clamp system
The needle clamp can tilt forward after the machine is positioned according to the manual.
This improves visibility and access when changing needles or threading the needle eyes.
The left and right needles sit at slightly different heights when installed correctly, so each needle must be pushed fully into its designated position.
Easy lay-in tension threading
Raise the presser foot before threading to release pressure inside the tension units.
Each thread can then be placed cleanly into its colour-coded tension path.
Lowering the presser foot re-engages the selected tension settings for sewing.
Adjustable presser-foot pressure
Adjust the pressure applied by the presser foot to suit different fabric weights and surfaces.
Lighter pressure may improve feeding across delicate or highly stretchy materials, while additional pressure can help maintain contact on firmer fabrics.
