Differential feed is the feature stretch sewing depends on
The front and rear feed-dog sections can move fabric at different rates. Adjust their relationship to reduce rippling on stretchy jerseys or puckering on lightweight woven fabrics.
You can also move beyond correction: use a higher differential setting to encourage controlled gathering, or combine feed settings with other adjustments for deliberately waved decorative edges.
Best practice: change one setting at a time and record the successful combination. Fabric stretch, number of layers, thread and seam direction all influence the result.
Fine-tune the stitch for the fabric in front of you
Balance movement through knits and fine fabrics, or use the feed difference creatively for gathers and waves.

Threading an overlocker has more steps than threading a sewing machine, but the process becomes repeatable once each colour and looper route is familiar.
Important: if a thread breaks or a stitch will not form correctly, rethread in the manual's stated order rather than joining the new thread midway through an uncertain path.
