Choosing the right sewing clips
When are sewing clips useful?
Clips hold an edge without piercing it, making them useful for quilt binding, bag panels, vinyl and other materials where pinholes may remain visible. Test the grip on delicate or easily marked surfaces. Clips hold near an edge; they are not a direct replacement for pins across the middle of a quilt.
Standard, large or extra-wide clips?
Standard clips keep everyday seam allowances and binding manageable. Larger or wider clips provide a different reach and gripping area for bulky projects. Compare the listed dimensions and opening capacity; a bigger clip is not automatically the best match for a small seam.
How many clips do I need?
A small pack suits a portable sewing kit or short seam. Larger packs are convenient for long bindings or several pieces held at once. Check the number of clips per pack and remove each clip before it reaches the machine needle or presser foot.
