Choosing the correct foot controller or power cord
Power lead or speed controller?
A mains lead supplies power; a foot controller operates through the machine’s specified control connection. Some listings include the controller and attached cord, while others supply only a power lead. Check what is included rather than choosing from the plug shape alone.
Match the reference and connection
Compare the original controller or cord label, complete machine model, connector shape and electrical rating. Figure-8, D-shaped and single-pin connections are different arrangements; matching the number of pins is not a complete fit check. Regional versions can also differ.
Different controls do different jobs
The Singer 979583-001 air controller is for machines designed for pneumatic control. The Brother MFFC2AP multifunction controller supports additional commands only where the connected machine provides them. Neither is a general replacement for every pedal from that brand.
