Circular, straight or double-pointed?

The Circular needles path shows interchangeable needle sets and tip pairs. Attach a suitable cable to make the circular needle your project needs; separate tips are not supplied as a complete circular unless the listing says so. Straight needles and double-pointed needles each have their own path, including individual sizes and sets.

Start with the tool your pattern uses

Choose interchangeable needles when you want to change tip sizes and cable lengths, straight needles for knitting flat, or double-pointed needles for small rounds. Compare the KnitPro ranges

Standard, Special or Mini tips?

Standard 13cm tips provide more handhold; Special 10cm tips suit shorter circular combinations. Mini 5cm tips are designed for compact circular knitting. Choose both tip and cable for the required finished length: a matching connection alone does not guarantee a comfortable small circular. Check the cable listing carefully because the displayed length may describe the assembled needle rather than the bare cable.

Crochet sets serve different purposes

Waves and Zing offer individual hooks and sets. Oasis changes hook heads on a wooden handle, while the Dreamz and Symfonie Afghan/Tunisian sets use a different cable-based approach. A hook for ordinary crochet, an interchangeable handle system and a Tunisian hook set are different purchases. Match the hook size and technique to your pattern.

Prepare your yarn

Compare the compact hand-operated ball winder with the Natural and Signature Mega wooden winders. Check capacity and table requirements on the individual product. Unwind a hank into a supported loop before winding and feed the strand gently rather than pulling it tight. Project bags keep your current work and small tools together.

Block your finished project

Find foam mats, T-pins, Knit Blockers, blocking wires and sock blockers under Blocking tools. Choose the support suited to your project's shape, and follow the yarn's care instructions. Punch needle sets have their own shopping path; they are a separate craft from knitting and ordinary crochet.

Keep the small essentials close

Accessories include stitch markers, stitch holders, gauges, row counters, cable needles, repair hooks, tapestry needles and folding scissors. Cable needles hold stitches during cable knitting; they are different from the flexible cables that connect interchangeable tips.
