The product name matters. Choose for the fabric, whether you plan to stitch, and whether the job needs a full sheet, a narrow tape or added structure.

Will you sew through it?
Choose Lite, FeatherLite or Soft Stretch Lite.
No stitching planned?
Choose UltraHold or Soft Stretch Ultra.
No iron or heat?
Choose Fabric Fuse PeelnStick sheets.

Appliqué, patches and fabric-to-fabric bonding

Lite, FeatherLite or UltraHold?

Lite and FeatherLite are sewable. UltraHold is the stronger no-sew choice. Select a pack for a smaller project, a roll for more coverage, or printable sheets for repeatable appliqué shapes.

HeatnBond Lite pack43 × 110cm · sewablePaper-backed double-sided adhesive for appliqué, quilts, wall hangings and garments without unwanted stiffness. HeatnBond Lite roll43cm × 4.8m · sewableThe larger-format Lite option for multiple appliqué pieces and bigger creative projects. Lite EZ-Print sheets10 sheets · 22 × 28cmPrint or trace appliqué designs on the paper side, fuse to fabric, cut out and stitch the edges. FeatherLite EZ-Print10 sheets · 22 × 28cmThe lightest sewable choice for layered appliqué, landscape quilts and wearables that need a softer hand. HeatnBond UltraHold packStrong permanent no-sew bondFor fabric-to-fabric bonding when you do not want to finish the bonded area with stitching. UltraHold roll43cm × 4.6m · no sewA larger roll of strong paper-backed adhesive for no-sew fabric projects and broader coverage. UltraHold for dark fabrics43cm × 2.74m · no sewA dark-fabric option designed to reduce pale adhesive show-through on black and deep-coloured materials.

The crucial difference: appliqué made with Lite or FeatherLite must be stitched for a permanent washable finish. UltraHold is intended for a permanent no-sew bond—do not substitute one for the other without checking the project requirements.

Flexible bonding for flexible fabrics

HeatnBond Soft Stretch for knits

Soft Stretch is made for jersey, knitwear, spandex, fleece, flannel and stretch denim. Choose Lite when you will sew or Ultra for no-sew bonding.

For stretch projects: match the adhesive to the fabric’s movement and intended construction. Test the complete fabric-and-adhesive combination first and follow the temperature, steam and pressing time printed on the exact product.

Clean hems without stitching

Choose hemming tape by fabric weight and colour

Regular Weight suits lighter fabrics; Super Weight is made for heavier cloth. UltraHold tape adds paper-backed precision, while black adhesive is useful beneath dark fabric.

Before hemming: pre-wash when the product directions require it, press the fold accurately and test on an offcut. Never place the iron directly on exposed adhesive.

Shape, support and stability

Which fusible interfacing weight?

Choose the lightest interfacing that gives the project the support it needs. The current non-woven packs are fusible, 100% polyester and approximately 50.8 × 91cm.

A simple fabric test Fuse a small offcut using the package directions, let it cool, then bend and handle it as the finished item will be used. Check drape, bond, surface texture and show-through before cutting the project.

Four specialist problem-solvers

Laminate, press, position or foundation piece

These products do different jobs. Iron-On Vinyl coats the face of fabric, Fabric Fuse bonds without heat, Pressing Paper protects surfaces, and StitchnSew provides printable tear-away support.

Helpful answers before you fuse

HeatnBond FAQs

What is HeatnBond used for?

HeatnBond is a family of fabric adhesives, interfacing and specialist craft products. Depending on the exact product, it can bond appliqué, create no-sew hems, support garment sections, move with stretch fabrics, laminate fabric or help with foundation piecing.

What is the difference between HeatnBond Lite and UltraHold?

Lite is a lightweight sewable adhesive: the bonded fabric must be stitched for a permanent washable result. UltraHold creates a stronger permanent no-sew bond and is not the choice for projects that require stitching through the bonded area.

When should I choose FeatherLite instead of Lite?

Choose FeatherLite when you want the lightest possible sewable adhesive, especially for layered appliqué, landscape quilts and wearables. Choose Lite when you want a little more body while keeping the adhesive sewable.

Which HeatnBond is best for stretch fabric?

Use Soft Stretch for knits, jersey, spandex, fleece, flannel and stretch denim. Soft Stretch Lite is sewable; Soft Stretch Ultra is the no-sew option. Test the bond and recovery on an offcut first.

Which HeatnBond should I use for hemming?

Use Regular Weight hemming tape for lighter fabrics and Super Weight for heavier fabrics such as denim, wool or corduroy. Black options suit dark fabrics, while the paper-backed UltraHold tapes offer 15.9mm and 22.2mm bond widths.

Can HeatnBond EZ-Print sheets go through a printer?

The Lite and FeatherLite EZ-Print adhesive sheets are intended for inkjet printers, not laser printers or copiers. The StitchnSew foundation-piecing sheets can be used with inkjet or laser printers. Follow the individual product directions and mirror letters or directional designs when required.

Is HeatnBond Iron-On Vinyl an adhesive?

It is a heat-applied surface coating, not a product for bonding two fabrics together. Use it to give suitable fabric a flexible gloss, water-repellent finish. Use Lite or UltraHold when you need fabric-to-fabric bonding.

How do I stop adhesive getting on my iron?

Never touch the iron directly to exposed adhesive. Keep the paper liner or specified pressing protection in place and use reusable Pressing Paper where directed to protect the iron, project and work surface.

Bond with confidence

Match the adhesive to the fabric—and the finish

Decide whether the project will be sewn, no-sew, stretch or structured. Then open the product page, confirm the format and follow the exact fusing directions for a clean, durable result.

Always pre-test on an offcut and follow the directions printed on the exact product. Fabric fibre, weave, coatings, iron accuracy, temperature, steam, pressure and pressing time can change the result. Product specifications and availability may change; check the individual product page before ordering.
