A clear six-stage start-up
Position
Place the generator horizontally on a level, stable, heat-safe surface.
Assemble
Fit the cable support and secure the iron cable and steam hose without twists.
Fill cold
With the unit off and unplugged, add distilled water without exceeding 2.3L useful capacity.
Connect
Fit the safety cap and connect directly to an earthed NZ 10A outlet.
Heat
Switch on the boiler and iron, select cotton and wait for the lamp to turn off.
Prime

Protect the stainless boiler
Distilled water helps minimise scale and residue from minerals and treatment chemicals found in tap water.
- Drain and flush the boiler once a week.
- Drain only when the generator is cold, unplugged and the gauge reads 0 bar.
- Wait at least one hour after switch-off before draining.
- Never add fragrance, starch, special ironing water or chemical treatments.
- Never overfill or spill water onto the machine.
Standard NZ 10A plug
The NZ-supplied unit operates from a standard 10A plug. Connect it directly to a correctly earthed 230V outlet.
- Avoid multi-boxes and extension leads.
- Never open the safety cap while the generator is operating or pressurised.

Is the capacity 2.3L or 2.8L?
Both figures describe different things. The boiler vessel is 2.8L, while the current manufacturer and Direct Sewing specification gives 2.3L as the usable water capacity. Do not fill to the vessel’s total volume.
How long can it provide steam?
The published autonomy is up to approximately three hours. Actual time varies with steam-flow setting and how frequently the iron’s steam microswitch is used.
Who is the Vaporino best suited to?
It is a strong choice for dressmakers, alteration work, home studios and anyone wanting a compact boiler-and-iron system for regular garment pressing.
How do I know it is ready?
Wait for the boiler lamp to switch off and confirm approximately 2.5–3 bar on the pressure gauge. Then direct the iron safely away from people and fabric and release four or five short bursts to clear condensation.
Can I refill it while hot?
Never open the cap while the generator is operating or pressurised. Unplug, follow the manual’s pressure-release procedure, confirm the gauge is at 0 bar and wait a further 5–10 minutes before refilling.
Why is distilled water important?
Distilled water reduces the minerals and water-treatment chemicals entering the boiler. This helps limit scale and residue. Do not add perfume, starch, special ironing water or chemical treatments.
How often should I drain the boiler?
Drain and flush it once a week. The machine must be cold and unplugged, the pressure gauge must read 0 bar, and at least one hour should have passed since switch-off.
Why am I seeing circular water marks?
