Before you start
- Adjust the ring comfortably so the plate rests near your palm.
- Gather the running stitches onto a suitable long needle, keeping its point under control.
- Support the eye end against a dimple in the plate and push gently before drawing the needle through.
The plate provides support, not permission to force a needle. Reduce the number of fabric layers or use a more suitable needle if the work is difficult to penetrate.

The 611 adds a projecting plate. The 610 is a plain ring with no plate.
