Supporting Future Designers at NZ Fashion Week

On Saturday 30th August 2025, Direct Sewing Machines & Supplies will be closing slightly earlier than usual, from 10:00am – 12:30pm, as our team heads into Auckland to attend the NZ Fashion Week Graduate Collections Runway Show.

This iconic event showcases the next generation of New Zealand fashion talent from Whitecliffe College, AUT, and Massey University. These students are innovators in fashion design, textile technology, and garment construction, and many have relied on sewing machines, pattern-making tools, and accessories from Direct Sewing to bring their creative visions to life.

As one of New Zealand’s largest sewing machine suppliers, we are proud to support the student fashion community. From entry-level Brother and Janome sewing machines for beginners, to industrial Juki and Siruba machines used in professional fashion studios, our products help designers take their ideas from concept to runway.

The Graduate Collections Show at NZ Fashion Week 2025 is more than just a runway, it’s a celebration of emerging design, technical skill, and creativity. By attending, we’re not only celebrating the hard work of students who have supported us year after year, but also reaffirming our commitment to nurturing the future of fashion in New Zealand.
