Pin heads stay accessible
The upright arrangement makes it easier to see and select a pin without searching through a loose pile of sharp points.
The Gypsy Quilter Large Magnetic Pin Cup uses a strong internal magnet to gather steel pins and hold them with their heads easy to reach. Its collapsible Gypsy Purple design expands for sewing, then packs into the included lid and travel case for classes, retreats and tidy storage.
Large cup - up to 100 pins
Instead of pushing each pin into a fabric cushion, place removed pins into the cup as you sew. The magnetic centre draws compatible steel pins inward, encouraging their points to settle down and leaving the heads visible around the rim.
The upright arrangement makes it easier to see and select a pin without searching through a loose pile of sharp points.
Drop each removed pin into the generous cup as you approach it, helping keep the sewing table clearer during construction.
Collapse the cup and use the supplied lid and case arrangement to contain compatible pins during storage or travel.

Open the travel case, extend the cup and place it on a stable, level part of your sewing table. Add compatible pins point first so the heads remain easy to reach.
Remove the lid and case pieces, then expand the collapsible cup to its full working height.
Set the cup near your sewing area where it will not interfere with fabric movement or the machine controls.
Place compatible steel pins into the cup and let the magnet draw them toward the centre.
Count and secure the pins, collapse the cup and make sure the lid and case are fully closed before moving it.
About 2.25 x 2.25in across the base. The full height supports longer pins while you sew.
About 2.25 x 2.25in across. A shorter profile for the closed travel and storage arrangement.

Align the lid and case correctly. If they resist, reopen the cup and check that no pin or thread is trapped.
No. The pins are shown only to demonstrate the magnetic cup in use. This listing is for the Gypsy Purple cup, lid and case arrangement.
The manufacturer states a capacity of up to 100 pins. The practical number can vary with pin length, head shape and thickness.
It is intended for pins approximately 2.1in, or about 5.3cm, long.
The design encourages compatible steel pins to arrange upright with their points down and heads accessible. Add the pins point first for the neatest arrangement.
It works with magnetic metals. Some stainless-steel alloys, plastic notions and non-ferrous metals may have weak or no attraction.
Yes. Collapse the cup and fully secure the lid and case before travel. Place the closed cup inside a larger sewing bag compartment so it cannot open or move around freely.
It can help pick up compatible pins from a flat table or floor. Move it slowly over the area and always complete a visual check afterwards.
This is the large Gypsy Purple model TGQPH007. The small purple model has a different code and is intended for shorter pins.
Open it beside the machine, let the magnet organise up to 100 compatible pins, then collapse and close it when it is time to pack your sewing away.
