Choose a steel surface
Attach the twin-magnet base to a clean, exposed magnetic-metal area on the machine head or stand.
The NewBrain LED-16M is a compact machine-mounted light for suitable metal industrial sewing machines. Two strong magnets hold the base in place, the flexible gooseneck brings the 16-LED panel towards the needle area, and the built-in rocker switch keeps control within easy reach.
16 LEDs + twin magnets
Built-in machine lighting does not always reach the front, side or darker parts of the needle area. LED-16M lets you establish a second light position on the machine itself, then bend the neck until the panel is aimed at the detail you want to see.
Attach the twin-magnet base to a clean, exposed magnetic-metal area on the machine head or stand.
Bring the slim LED head towards the presser foot, needle plate, seam guide or threading area.
Lift the base and move it to another suitable position or compatible machine without leaving adhesive behind.
The magnets establish the starting point while the gooseneck handles fine adjustment. Place the base where the lamp can reach without obstructing controls, thread paths or covers, then aim the light head from above, beside or behind the working area.
Choose a clean, flat magnetic-metal surface large enough for both magnets to sit fully. Many traditional industrial machine heads and steel stands provide suitable positions.
A machine may contain metal internally while its outer casing is plastic or non-magnetic. Test the exact mounting spot with an ordinary magnet before ordering, and keep the base clear of labels, vents, controls and moving parts.
The slim rectangular head concentrates sixteen LEDs in a form that can be positioned close to the work. LED operation produces minimal heat compared with a traditional incandescent source and uses less electricity.
The LED panel is integrated into the lamp; no customer-replaceable bulb is specified.
Aim the panel towards the stitch formation area for threading, seam guidance and everyday sewing.
Reposition the neck for better visibility when threading or checking an overlocker's working area.
Extra local light can make edges, seam allowances and thread paths easier to distinguish.
Exact wattage, lumens, lux and colour temperature are not published for the Direct Sewing configuration, so none is promised here.
Bring the panel towards the needle plate, seam guide and stitch line.
Aim extra light around threading paths, loopers, knives and fabric edges.
Improve visibility around bulky layers, dark materials and specialised feet.
Move the light closer for unpicking, mending and detailed topstitching.
Use on other suitable steel equipment when a compact aimable task light is helpful.
Choose a mounting position within reach of a suitable NZ outlet and clear of moving machine parts.
Use an ordinary magnet to confirm the exact outside mounting position is magnetic.
Remove dust, oil and loose material so both magnets can make full contact.
Set the base clear of controls and moving parts, then gently shape the gooseneck.
Connect the hard-wired NZ plug, use the base rocker and aim the head away from your eyeline.

Two strong circular magnets in the base attach to a suitable clean, flat, exposed magnetic-metal surface on the machine or workstation.
No. The intended mounting position must be made from exposed magnetic metal. Plastic covers, aluminium and some stainless-steel surfaces will not hold a magnet even when metal exists elsewhere inside the machine.
Yes. Metal-bodied industrial sewing machines commonly provide suitable mounting surfaces. Always test the exact position before ordering.
Yes, provided each machine has a suitable exposed magnetic surface and the hard-wired lead can reach an appropriate NZ outlet. Lift the base rather than sliding the magnets across the machine finish.
Bend the flexible but sturdy gooseneck to bring the rectangular LED panel towards the area you want to illuminate.
The on/off rocker switch is integrated into the magnetic base, as shown in the Direct Sewing product photograph.
The light uses an integrated 16-LED panel and no customer-replaceable bulb is specified.
Direct Sewing does not currently publish exact wattage, lumen, lux or Kelvin figures for its LED-16M configuration, so these values should not be assumed from a different regional version.
Yes. The Direct Sewing LED-16M is supplied hard-wired with a proper NZ double-insulated plug, ready for a suitable New Zealand wall outlet.
Choose LED-16M when you have a suitable steel machine surface and want a compact lamp mounted close to the work. Choose a table-clamp lamp when magnetic mounting is unavailable or you want greater reach across the whole workstation.
Place the NewBrain LED-16M on a suitable steel surface, aim its compact 16-LED panel and reposition it whenever the machine or job changes.
