Your yarn choices
MODE at Rowan Softest Alpaca 50g. Sandbank is shown in Linen 015 and Willow 018 as separate shade examples. Shore is shown in Linen 015.
Sandbank uses two balls with a single strand. Shore uses yarn held double; its 12, 13 or 14-ball total already allows for both strands. Do not double the displayed quantity.
Order the full amount of each shade together; contact us for help checking dye lots.
Project sizing & yarn quantities
Choose Shore using your body bust range and compare the finished garment measurement. Sandbank’s figure is finished hat circumference, not head size.

Each addition supplies one selected project. For paired designs, add each separately and include the leaflet only once. Extra length or alterations may require more yarn.
Needles & finishing tools
Sandbank flat: 5.5mm straight needles. No additional specialised finishing tool is listed for the hat. No cables are required.
Sandbank in the round: 5.5mm DPNs. No additional specialised finishing tool is listed for the hat. No cables are required.
Shore: 5.5mm body circular measuring 100cm and a separate 5.5mm circular measuring 40cm for the neckband. Shore requires stitch markers. Body: 100cm-labelled cable with regular 13cm tips. The separate 40cm cable uses short 10cm tips. Choose own cables only if you have both setups.

Tension & care
Sandbank: 16 stitches × 36 rows/rounds to 10cm over fisherman’s rib using 5.5mm needles.
Shore: 18 stitches × 24 rows to 10cm over stocking stitch using 5.5mm needles and yarn held double.
Make a tension square and adjust your needle size if needed. Follow the yarn label for care instructions.

Before you begin
Can I use my own tools or pattern?
Yes. Select only what you need. Check needle diameters and circular lengths before choosing own tools or cables. Own cables removes the cables and any connector from the package, while retaining the needle tips.
Can I make more than one project?
Add one project at a time, then return to choose the next. Include the leaflet once and untick it for later additions. Buy the full yarn quantity for each project.
