What would you like to make?
Choose it when you want cotton batting for a larger patchwork project without buying a full roll. The queen pack also suits a planned cutting layout of smaller quilted pieces. Measure the complete top, including borders, before ordering: a queen-size quilt can be larger than a queen-size batting pack.
Choose by measurements, not just the size name
Your batting needs to extend beyond every edge of the quilt top for basting, quilting and trimming. Add your required allowance to both the width and length before choosing a pack. If using a longarm quilting service, follow your quilter’s requested margin.
For example: a 100 × 120cm quilt top with a 5cm allowance on each side needs at least 110 × 130cm of batting. Your own quilting method may need a larger margin.
Preparing and caring for your batting
The CosyCotton pack recommends pre-washing. Follow its printed method and handle wet batting gently without stretching. Once dry, smooth it out, layer with your quilt top and backing, and baste before stitching.
Helpful answers
Should I pre-wash CosyCotton?
Yes—the packaging recommends pre-washing. Follow its method and support the batting carefully when wet to avoid stretching.
Does scrim mean iron-on?
No. Scrim holds the filling together. This non-fusible batting still needs basting and quilting.
