The Blue Shorties set covers five highly useful sizes from 3.5–5mm in both 5cm and 8cm tip lengths. Three flexible X-Flex blue cables create ultra-short circulars for socks, sleeves, cuffs, mitts, baby knits and hat crowns.

The blue nylon-coated steel-core cables are designed to flex through the tight curve of very small circulars.

Important correction: there are five sizes in two lengths—ten pairs total. There is no extra size that changes by production batch.
Approximately 23–36cm circular needles
Cable lengths are measured without tips. Mix one 5cm and one 8cm tip when you want a longer working-hand grip without making both ends longer.

How many tip pairs are included?
Ten pairs: five sizes, each supplied as one 5cm pair and one 8cm pair.
Is there an extra production-batch size?
No. The official five sizes are 3.5, 3.75, 4, 4.5 and 5mm.
Are the included cables red or blue?
The current 7230-S Blue Shorties set includes X-Flex blue Small [S] cables in 13, 15 and 20cm lengths.
What is the shortest circular?
Two 5cm tips plus the 13cm cable make an approximately 23cm / 9-inch circular.
Can the 13cm cable be used with 8cm tips?
No. ChiaoGoo specifies the 13cm cable for two 5cm tips only.
Do all tips have tightening holes?
No. The solid 5cm tips have tightening holes; the hollow 8cm tips do not.
Can Small parts connect to MINI or Large?
Not directly. MINI [M], Small [S] and Large [L] use different threaded join sizes.
Is this a good alternative to DPNs or Magic Loop?
Yes when the project circumference fits the approximately 23–36cm combinations and you enjoy very short circular needles.
