210mm workspace
Gain more room to the right of the needle for quilts, coats, bags and home projects.
Create garments, quilts, bags and home projects with more room and greater creative freedom. The Brother Innov-is NV1100 combines 180 built-in stitches, a generous 210mm workspace, sideways sewing, My Custom Stitch, automatic thread cutting and an included knee lift.
The Brother NV1100 is designed for sewists who have moved beyond entry-level machines and want greater space, control and stitch choice.
Its 210mm workspace gives curtains, cushions, coats, quilts, bags and larger garment sections more room beneath the machine arm.
Automatic needle threading and thread cutting reduce repetitive preparation, while the knee lift helps you keep both hands on the project.
Sideways sewing, lettering and My Custom Stitch provide creative options that are rarely found on basic computerised machines.
The Brother NV1100 does not embroider and does not use embroidery hoops.
Its decorative patterns, lettering and My Custom Stitch designs are sewn as the fabric feeds normally beneath the presser foot.
It is designed for garment construction, quilting, patchwork, appliqué, repairs and creative feed-through sewing.
The NV1100 includes the key equipment required for garments, decorative sewing, buttonholes, zips, overcasting and general quilting preparation.
Gain more room to the right of the needle for quilts, coats, bags and home projects.
Sew utility, decorative, quilting, heirloom, lettering and multi-directional patterns.
Use supported stitches in multiple directions without rotating the complete project.
Design and save original feed-through decorative sewing patterns.
Cut the upper and bobbin threads using one direct machine control.
Guide the upper thread through the needle eye with minimal effort.
Raise the presser foot while keeping both hands on the project.
Protect the machine during storage and transport to classes or retreats.
A larger machine opening makes a noticeable difference when working with curtains, coats, quilt blocks, bag panels and bulky garment sections.
More room reduces the amount of folding and bunching required as the project passes beneath the machine arm.
Remove the accessory compartment to expose the free arm for sleeves, trouser hems and other tubular projects.
Utility, decorative, quilting, heirloom, lettering and multi-directional options.
The NV1100 includes stitches for garment construction, stretch fabrics, overcasting, quilting, appliqué and decorative sewing.
Five lettering fonts allow names, labels and short messages to be sewn directly into suitable projects.
Compatible decorative stitches and lettering can be combined and stored for reuse.
Enter the required stitch number using the direct keypad and view the recommended settings on the LCD screen.
The display provides stitch-width, stitch-length and presser-foot information to help prepare the machine correctly.
Pattern combinations and selected settings can be stored for later use.
Supported stitches can move the fabric forwards, backwards and sideways.
This is useful in areas where rotating a large, structured or tubular project would be difficult.
Multi-directional feeding also allows broader decorative stitch effects to be formed.
My Custom Stitch allows individual stitch points to be plotted onto a grid to form an original feed-through sewing pattern.
Completed designs can be edited, stored and sewn repeatedly on future projects.
It is ideal for personalised borders, repeating motifs and decorative details that go beyond the built-in library.
My Custom Stitch creates ordinary feed-through sewing stitches. It does not convert artwork, logos or photographs into embroidery designs.
Add names, labels, initials, dates and short messages using built-in lettering stitches.
Characters can be combined and saved as a stitch sequence, allowing frequently used wording to be sewn again.
The fabric feeds normally beneath the presser foot as each character is formed.
These are sewing fonts rather than embroidery fonts. Letter size and density are determined by the machine’s feed-through stitch system.
Place the button into the supplied buttonhole foot and allow the machine to determine the required buttonhole length.
The complete buttonhole is sewn automatically in one continuous sequence for consistent sizing.
Ten styles provide choices for shirts, jackets, stretch fabrics, heirloom work and home furnishings.
Press the thread-cutter button and the NV1100 trims both the upper and bobbin threads.
Automatic cutting is particularly useful when chain piecing, decorative stitching or completing projects with many short seams.
The lock-stitch control can also secure the beginning or end of suitable stitch patterns.
Follow the clearly marked upper-thread path and operate the threading control to guide the thread through the needle eye.
The advanced system reduces the need to manually pass fine thread through the eye of the needle.
This is particularly valuable during projects involving frequent thread-colour changes.
Use the knee lift to raise the presser foot without taking your hands away from the fabric.
This provides greater control while positioning patchwork, aligning seam intersections or working around detailed shapes.
The generous workspace, drop feed, knee lift and extensive stitch library make the NV1100 a capable machine for developing quilting skills.
Add an optional 1/4-inch foot for accurate quilt seam allowances.
Lower the feed dogs and add a compatible free-motion foot.
Add an optional walking foot and wide table for layered quilts.
Use adjustable speed, needle-down control and decorative stitches.
Choose from built-in quilting and decorative stitch patterns.
Raise the presser foot while both hands remain on the quilt.
Complete garment seams, patchwork and home projects efficiently at speeds up to 850 stitches per minute.
Use the electronic speed-control slider to set a comfortable maximum for beginners, curves, appliqué and detailed decorative work.
The machine can be operated with the supplied foot controller or the start and stop button.
Efficient performance for garments, patchwork, quilting and home sewing.
Insert the bobbin from above, follow the marked thread route and begin sewing without manually pulling the bobbin thread through the needle plate.
The transparent cover allows the remaining bobbin thread to be checked at a glance.
Brother’s F.A.S.T. bobbin-winding system simplifies preparation of additional bobbins.
Lower the feed dogs when you want to move the fabric manually beneath the needle.
With a compatible optional foot, this allows free-motion quilting, thread drawing, stippling and selected darning techniques.
Raise the feed dogs again for ordinary garment sewing, patchwork and decorative stitching.
The NV1100 provides a substantially larger workspace than a compact entry-level machine while remaining manageable to move.
Its approximately 9.4kg machine weight makes it practical for sewing groups, classes and retreats.
The included hard case protects the machine during storage and transport.

The Brother Innov-is NV1100 is a domestic computerised sewing and quilting machine. It does not embroider.
Its five lettering fonts are feed-through sewing stitches rather than hoop-based embroidery fonts.
The standard regional package does not include the wide extension table, walking foot, 1/4-inch foot or free-motion quilting foot. These are available separately.
The 210mm measurement refers to the physical space between the needle and machine tower. An optional table increases fabric support but does not increase the throat opening.
The NV1100 is not an industrial walking-foot or compound-feed machine.
It can sew ordinary garment denim, quilting cotton, layered fabrics and many bag materials when fitted with the correct needle and thread.
Heavy leather, thick webbing, upholstery assemblies and continuous commercial production require an appropriate industrial machine.
