Electric Feed Length Control System
Set stitch length from the touchscreen
JUKI’s Electric Feed Length Control System, or EFLeCS, uses a stepping motor to control the feed mechanism. Stitch length is selected electronically from the colour LCD touchscreen instead of with a mechanical pitch dial.

Automatic functions

By automating the repetitive actions around each line of stitching, the DDL-900C helps an operator maintain a smoother rhythm and more consistent finish.
Automatic reverse stitching
Programmable backtacking secures the beginning and end of the seam without repeatedly operating a manual reverse lever.
Automatic thread trimming
The double-blade rotary trimming mechanism cuts the threads directly beneath the needle, leaving approximately 3.5 mm or less of remaining thread beneath the material.
Automatic presser-foot lift
The foot can lift automatically as part of the sewing cycle. An included knee-lifter also allows the operator to raise the foot while keeping both hands on the work.
Stepping-motor operation
JUKI uses stepping-motor drive for the thread trimmer and automatic lifter, substantially reducing operating noise compared with conventional solenoid-driven mechanisms.

Reduced risk of oil staining
JUKI’s Oil Shielding System integrates the oil reservoir into the machine bed. Frame recovery and circulation systems help prevent externally splashed oil from reaching the work.
Efficient direct-drive motor
JUKI states that the integrated direct-drive motor consumes approximately 25% less power than a conventional V-belt-driven machine while providing fast starting response and full power at low speed.
High-speed productivity
The medium-weight model can sew at up to 5,000 stitches per minute when the stitch length is below 4 mm. Maximum speed is 4,000 stitches per minute when using a stitch length of 4 mm or more.
Quiet when not sewing
Unlike a traditional continuously running clutch motor, the direct-drive servo motor does not run at full speed while the machine is idle.

What type of stitch does the JUKI DDL-900C make?
It produces a single-needle straight lockstitch using one needle thread and one bobbin thread. It is designed for professional seam construction and topstitching.
Does the DDL-900C sew zigzag or embroidery stitches?
No. It is a straight-lockstitch industrial machine. Its electronic feed system can create patterns by alternating straight-stitch lengths, but it does not move the needle sideways or produce embroidery.
What is JUKI EFLeCS?
EFLeCS is JUKI’s Electric Feed Length Control System. A stepping motor controls the feed pitch, allowing stitch length to be selected digitally from the touchscreen rather than with a conventional mechanical dial.

It may sew some light leather and suitable medium-weight materials with the correct needle, thread and adjustment. It is not the preferred machine for thick leather, heavy upholstery, webbing or difficult multi-layer assemblies, where a walking-foot, needle-feed or compound-feed machine is normally more appropriate.
What is the advantage of the direct-drive motor?
The motor connects directly to the machine shaft, providing responsive control, strong low-speed performance, reduced transmission noise and lower energy consumption than a conventional V-belt-driven setup.
Does the machine have an automatic foot lift?
Yes. The automatic lifter can raise the presser foot as part of the programmed sewing cycle. A knee lifter is also provided for hands-free manual control.
Is the table and stand included?
Industrial machine packages can differ depending on freight, assembly and installation requirements. Confirm the exact tabletop, stand, pedal arrangement and assembled package with Direct Sewing before ordering.
What warranty applies to this machine?
The current Direct Sewing listing provides a 12-month warranty from the date the machine is received. Manufacturing faults must be inspected and authorised by Direct Sewing or an approved technician. Proof of purchase is required, and exclusions apply for misuse, incorrect installation, unauthorised repairs and normal wear.
