Correct product details: this is Heavy Metal No. 30, article 8014, with 8 × 200m spools. The previous listing incorrectly said 100m in one section and labelled the set as Rayon. Madeira specifies a Metallic NM 90/14 needle (article 9451), not a fine 65/9 or 75/11 needle.

Does each spool contain 100m or 200m?
Each of the eight Heavy Metal spools contains 200m. The complete Madeira 8014 box therefore contains 1600m of thread.
Is this Rayon thread?
No. Heavy Metal No. 30 is a specialist metallic machine embroidery thread made from 50% polyester and 50% metallised PE. The earlier “Rayon Heavy Metal” wording was incorrect.
Which needle should I use?
Madeira recommends a Metallic NM 90/14 needle, article 9451. Its larger, smoother eye helps the heavier metallic thread pass with less abrasion.
Will it work on my household machine?
Madeira lists Heavy Metal as suitable for sewing and embroidery machines. Use the recommended needle, a clean thread path, suitable stabiliser and a test piece before starting the final project.
Can the finished embroidery be washed at 95°C?
The Heavy Metal thread itself is rated by Madeira for washing up to 95°C. The finished item should only be washed at the lowest temperature allowed by its fabric, stabiliser, bobbin thread, trims and care label.
Is Heavy Metal resistant to bleach and chlorine?
