Select a stitch using the directional controls beside the screen.
The backlit LCD displays the selected pattern and current stitch settings.

Needle up and down positioning
Set the needle to stop inside the fabric whenever sewing stops.
The project can then be turned around the needle without losing the exact stitch position.
Needle-down stopping is useful for patchwork, appliqué, top stitching, curves and corners.
Automatic lock-off stitch button
Press the lock-stitch button to secure suitable stitching at the beginning or end of a seam.
This can produce a tidier result than repeatedly reversing over visible decorative or top-stitching patterns.
Built-in needle threader
Follow the marked upper-thread route and operate the threading lever beside the needle.
The mechanism helps pass the upper thread through the needle eye.
This is particularly helpful for beginners and projects involving frequent thread-colour changes.

Rigid die-cast aluminium internal frame
The DC2150 is built around a rigid internal frame that supports stable needle movement and consistent sewing.
It remains a domestic machine rather than an industrial walking-foot or compound-feed model.
Drop feed for darning and free-motion sewing
Lower the feed dogs when you want to move the fabric manually rather than allowing the machine to feed it automatically.
This supports darning, thread drawing, stippling and free-motion quilting when the correct optional foot is fitted.

The DC2150 is not a large-throat quilting machine, but it includes the essential electronic controls needed for patchwork, appliqué and manageable quilting projects.

Add an optional 1/4-inch foot for consistent quilt seam allowances.

Important information before purchasing
The Janome DC2150 is a computerised domestic sewing machine. It is not an overlocker or embroidery machine.
It includes 50 built-in stitches and three automatic one-step buttonhole styles.
Maximum stitch width is 7mm and maximum stitch length is 5mm.
Upper-thread tension is adjusted manually. Presser-foot pressure is not adjustable.
The face-plate thread cutter is manual. The machine does not include automatic electronic thread cutting.
The wide extension table and specialist quilting feet are available separately.
The DC2150 is intended for domestic sewing rather than continuous industrial production or specialist heavy leather work.
