Why pressure + heat make a difference

A more capable finish than steam alone

01

Steam relaxes the fibres

The boiler supplies adjustable pressure steam to loosen storage, transit and wear creases in hanging garments.

02

The brush stays warm

A dedicated 350W element heats the padded brush so its contact surface contributes gentle warmth while you work.

03

The pad supports the fabric

The broad cushioned face provides more controlled contact than a bare steam nozzle when gliding over suitable textiles.

Built for vertical garment care

Follow long hems, full-length curtains and shaped garments with ease

The brush is connected by a flexible steam hose and rests on its own tall support mast when not in hand. Four castors let the compact boiler base roll into position, while the approximately 106cm overall height keeps the brush and hose organised between uses.

Where it earns its place

From workroom finishing to front-of-house presentation

Garment retail

Refresh stock after unpacking, handling and fitting-room use before it returns to display.

Bridal + occasionwear

Work vertically over long skirts, dresses and shaped pieces that are awkward to lay flat.

Costume departments

Prepare garments between fittings, performances and wardrobe changes.

Curtains + drapes

Relax hanging creases across larger pieces without transferring the full item to an ironing table.

A straightforward working rhythm

Fill, heat, prime and glide

1

Fill when cold

With Atena cold, unplugged and at 0 bar, add distilled water without passing the marked working level.

2

Switch on

Start the boiler, then activate the heated brush as directed while the system prepares pressure steam.

3

Prime safely

Point the brush towards the floor and release two or three short steam bursts before approaching the garment.

4

Adjust output

Set the steam flow for the fabric, test an inconspicuous area and keep the brush moving.

5

Return to rest

Hang the heated brush securely on its support whenever it is not in your hand.

Frequently asked questions

Battistella Atena FAQs

How is Atena different from an ordinary garment steamer?

Atena uses a pressurised stainless boiler to deliver steam at 2.8 bar, then combines it with a powered 350W padded heated brush. It is a professional pressure-steaming system rather than a simple gravity-fed water tank and nozzle.

How long does one fill last?

Battistella publishes approximately 3–4 hours of ironing autonomy. Actual time depends on how frequently and heavily the steam button is used.

Is the capacity 4.5L or 3.4L?

Both figures describe different things. The stainless boiler vessel is 4.5L, while its useful working water capacity is 3.4L so the boiler retains the space needed to produce steam.

Can Atena be used on curtains?

Yes. Its vertical format and flexible hose make it well suited to curtains, drapes and other larger hanging pieces. Always test the material first and follow its care instructions.

Does Atena replace a traditional iron?

Atena excels at vertical freshening, relaxing creases and improving garment presentation. Use a conventional iron and pressing surface when you need sharply pressed seams, exact creases or firm construction pressing.

Is the heated brush included?

Yes. Atena is supplied with its 350W padded heated steam brush and tall support mast.

Can I control the amount of steam?

Yes. The steam flow is adjustable, allowing you to reduce or increase output to suit the garment and job.

What water should I use?

Use distilled water to minimise minerals and treatment chemicals entering the boiler. Never add fragrance, starch, ironing additives or other treatments.

How often should the boiler be drained?

Drain and flush it once a week. Atena must be cold and unplugged, the gauge must read 0 bar, and at least one hour should have passed since switch-off.

Can I refill Atena while it is hot?

No. Atena is a manual-fill pressure boiler. Switch it off, unplug it, allow it to cool fully and confirm the pressure gauge reads 0 bar before opening the boiler.
