Use distilled water and flush the boiler weekly
Protect the boiler and steam path
Distilled water helps minimise residue from minerals and treatment chemicals found in tap water.
- Use distilled water when filling the cold boiler.
- Never add fragrance, starch, special ironing water or chemical treatments.
- Drain and flush the boiler once a week.
- Drain only when Atena is cold, unplugged and the pressure gauge reads 0 bar.
- Wait at least one hour after switching off before draining.
- Allow the boiler to cool fully before opening it for refilling.
Safe everyday steaming
Atena is rated at 230V / 50Hz with 1800W total published power. Connect it directly to a suitable, correctly earthed supply.
- Avoid multi-boxes and unsuitable extension leads.
- Test delicate or unfamiliar materials in an inconspicuous area first.
- Direct steam away from people, skin, pets and electrical fittings.

- Return the hot brush to its support between garments.
