Built-in top cover guide
Lower the integrated guide and spreader into position without fitting a separate external assembly.
Create beautifully finished knit hems, activewear, neckbands, bindings and decorative top stitching with Janome’s most advanced dedicated coverstitch machine. The CoverPro 3000 Professional combines built-in top cover stitching, triple and double cover hems, chain stitching, Fine Mode and an integrated needle threader in a spacious flat-bed design.
The CoverPro 3000 Professional complements your sewing machine and overlocker by completing the specialist finishing techniques those machines cannot reproduce.
Use it to create the parallel rows of stitching commonly seen on T-shirt sleeves, knit hems, sportswear, leggings and commercially manufactured garments.
Unlike a standard coverstitch machine, the CoverPro 3000 can also lay decorative thread across the top surface of the fabric. This creates a highly visible top cover stitch with industrial-style coverage on both sides of the project.
Its flat-bed design feels similar to a conventional sewing machine and provides useful workspace to the right of the needles for hemming, binding and decorative stitching away from a raw edge.
The CoverPro 3000 Professional includes the accessories required for standard coverstitch and top coverstitch setup.
Lower the integrated guide and spreader into position without fitting a separate external assembly.
Use three needles, the looper and top-cover thread for full triple top cover stitching.
Select the left, centre or right needle and use the built-in mechanism to thread it.
Switch to a preset fine-fabric tension mode for lightweight and highly stretchable materials.
Adjust fabric movement from 0.5 to 2.25 to help control waving, stretching and puckering.
Broad contact beneath the project supports smoother feeding through fine and heavier fabrics.
Pull out the dedicated LED light to illuminate the needles and stitch formation closely.
Remove the extension section to hem sleeves, leggings and other narrow tubular areas.
The top cover mechanism is stored inside the machine and moves into position with a simple lever operation.
Thread passes through the spreader above the fabric, laying a decorative woven effect across the needle stitches.
When top cover stitching is finished, release the mechanism and retract it back into the machine.
Three needle lines, top decorative coverage and lower-looper coverage using five threads.
Two needle lines spaced 6mm apart with decorative top and lower coverage.
Two needle lines spaced 3mm apart with decorative top and lower coverage.
Three parallel needle lines with broad lower-looper coverage beneath the fabric.
Two parallel needle lines spaced 6mm apart with flexible looper coverage underneath.
Two parallel needle lines spaced 3mm apart for narrower hems and decorative work.
One needle and one looper form a strong, flexible stitch for seams, basting and decoration.
A conventional coverstitch shows straight needle lines on top and looper coverage underneath. Top cover stitching adds decorative coverage to the upper surface as well.
Create commercially inspired decorative seams on leggings and sports garments.
Make the coverstitch part of the garment design rather than hiding it inside.
Use contrasting top-cover thread to highlight seams, bindings and panels.
Achieve decorative thread formation on both the upper and lower fabric surfaces.
Fine Mode changes the machine’s internal looper-tension relationship for lightweight and highly stretchable materials.
Move the lever to FINE when sewing light jersey, fine knits and other delicate fabrics. Use STD for standard knit fabrics, woven materials and heavier projects.
This reduces the amount of trial-and-error tension adjustment normally required when moving between significantly different fabric weights.
Move the selection slider to the needle being used, lower the threader and guide the thread through the hook.
The mechanism can thread the left, centre or right needle depending on the chosen stitch configuration.
A separate handy needle threader is also included with the standard accessories.
Differential feed changes the relationship between the front and rear feed dogs.
Increase the setting when knit fabric becomes wavy or stretches as it passes beneath the foot. Reduce the setting when lightweight fabric puckers or when a deliberately stretched decorative effect is required.
Help prevent rippling around T-shirt sleeves and lower hems.
Control highly elastic materials used in leggings and sports garments.
Reduce unwanted puckering on lightweight and delicate materials.
Create stretched or gathered effects where the project requires them.
The adjustment dial changes how firmly the presser foot holds the fabric against the feed dogs.
Reduce pressure for delicate, stretchy or easily marked fabrics. Increase pressure when additional contact is required through firmer or layered projects.
Guide markings around the pressure control provide a useful reference when returning to a previous setting.
The CoverPro layout places the needles towards the left side of a flat sewing bed rather than at the edge of an overlocker-style body.
This provides room to stitch hems, decorative lines and bindings within the body of a garment or project.
Remove the extension section to expose the narrower free-arm sewing area.
Tubular garment pieces can then pass around the arm rather than being flattened across the full sewing bed.
Two built-in LED areas illuminate the bed and needle zone during ordinary sewing.
Pull out the additional HighLight to direct concentrated illumination onto the needles and top cover mechanism.
Improved visibility helps when aligning hems, threading the machine and checking stitch formation.
Triple cover stitch and top cover stitch can continue forming a thread chain after leaving the fabric.
This provides an alternative to pulling each needle thread individually through the project before tying or securing the seam.
The correct ending method depends on the selected stitch, thread and project. The instruction manual explains chain-off and conventional thread-securing methods in detail.
Janome uses ball bearings on the main drive shaft to reduce vibration and support smoother operation.
The eight-piece feed dog maintains broad contact with the project, helping the machine move from fine knits through to fleece, woollens and garment-weight denim.
These features support consistent stitch formation at speeds up to 1,000 stitches per minute.
The CoverPro 3000 Professional is a dedicated coverstitch and chain-stitch machine. It is not a conventional sewing machine and does not sew straight stitches, zigzags, buttonholes or decorative sewing-machine patterns.
It is not an overlocker and does not trim fabric with cutting knives. An overlocker is still required for trimming and wrapping raw garment edges.
The CoverPro 3000 is manually threaded. It does not have air threading or automatic tension.
Thread tension is manually controlled through five lay-in tension dials. Fine Mode assists with lightweight fabrics but does not replace correct threading, needles, thread and test sewing.
It is a domestic professional-style machine intended for garment making and creative sewing rather than continuous industrial production.
