Schmetz Quilting needles have a slim, slightly rounded point with a special taper for cotton patchwork and quilt work. The shape helps the needle pass through layers with small puncture holes, while the blade design supports stability. Choose 75/11 or 90/14 for the fabric, batting and thread in your actual project.

Quilting the sandwich
Test through the top, batting and backing together. This lets you check the underside and fabric marking before quilting the finished piece.
Smaller quilted projects
Use for suitable cushions, table pieces and quilted accessories. Include folded edges or extra layers when assessing the machine's sewing capacity.

Before you start
- Confirm your machine accepts the H-Q household needle format and choose a size for the complete setup.
- Switch off and install a fresh needle, then prepare the quilt layers and chosen thread.
- Sew a test sandwich, checking stitch balance, intersections and any batting pulled through the fabric.
The needle size should suit the thread as well as the layers. Choosing the larger size automatically can leave more noticeable holes in fine quilting cotton.

Is this an assorted pack?
No. Select either 75/11 or 90/14; each pack contains five needles in that selected size.
Will these fit a longarm quilting machine?
Only if its instructions specify the compatible flat-shank format. Many longarm machines require a different, round-shank system.
