Madeira Avalon Plus is a firm water-soluble non-woven for embroidery on light and delicate fabrics. Its textile-like structure provides a temporary foundation for detailed work without leaving a permanent cut-away backing behind.
The white 40gsm material is supplied on a 30cm x 3m roll. Choose Plus when you want a non-woven structure rather than the clear film of Avalon Light or Ultra.

Where it works best
Lace and free-motion work
Embroider onto one or more layers for projects designed to hold together without fabric. Every part of a thread-only motif needs connected stitches before the stabiliser is dissolved.
Cutwork and decorative edges
Keep temporary support beneath open areas while completing cutwork, borders or Richelieu embroidery. When cutting the fabric openings, take care not to cut the supporting stabiliser underneath.

How to use it
- Cut to suit your hoop and design. Place beneath or above the fabric as required; Madeira also describes sandwiching suitable fabrics between two layers.
- Hoop the layers securely and stitch. Remove the work, then trim excess stabiliser without cutting the fabric or embroidery.
- Wash out the remainder in warm water suitable for your materials. Rinse as necessary, support delicate work and dry according to its care requirements.
Check water tolerance before use. More layers are not a substitute for an appropriately digitised design. Keep unused material sealed to protect it from moisture, dirt and drying out.

How is Plus different from Ultra?
Plus is a white, fabric-like non-woven; Ultra is a firm transparent film. Both wash away, but their handling and structure differ.
Is Avalon Plus self-adhesive?
No. Choose Avalon Fix when you need a water-soluble non-woven with a paper-backed adhesive surface for positioning.
