A cutting point for suitable leather projects
Janome Leather needles use a wedge-shaped cutting point to penetrate leather and suitable non-woven materials. This 15x1LL pack includes three sizes, letting you choose for the material and thread rather than using one heavy needle for everything. Check your machine's limits first: a leather needle does not turn a household machine into an industrial leather machine.

Suede and vinyl
Consider for suitable non-woven materials after testing. Check the material construction: a woven backing can change which needle is appropriate.
Visible stitched details
Plan the seam and test stitch length carefully because the cutting point leaves permanent holes that cannot simply be pressed away.

Before you start
- Check machine compatibility, material thickness and thread suitability before selecting a needle size.
- Fit the needle safely and test on an offcut with the same layers as the finished seam.
- Inspect the stitch spacing and holes, then sew without pulling the material or forcing thick intersections.
Do not use leather cutting-point needles on woven or knitted fabric: the point can cut yarns rather than pass between them.

Can I use these for denim?
Use a denim needle instead; denim is woven and needs a different point.
Are all faux leathers suitable?
No. Construction varies, so check the backing and test a scrap before choosing a cutting-point needle.
