A larger eye for denser embroidery work
Janome Red Tip needles offer a size 90/14 option for thicker fabrics and dense embroidery. Their larger eye is useful when working with suitable decorative or metallic thread. This pack contains five matching needles, so you can replace a worn needle without changing the size or type used for your project.
A single-size five-pack with red identification to distinguish it from Janome Blue and Purple Tip needles.

Before you start
- Confirm your machine accepts Red Tip needles and that the fabric and thread suit size 90/14.
- Fit a fresh needle with the machine safely stopped and follow the manual's insertion and threading instructions.
- Stitch a test using the same fabric, backing and thread; inspect the front and back before continuing.
A larger eye cannot correct every thread break. Check for snagging, unsuitable tension, worn needles and a design that is too dense for the fabric.
Good to know
Is Red Tip the same as Purple Tip?
No. Purple Tip has a different point design aimed at applications including challenging knits and free-motion quilting.
Are finer sizes included?
No. This pack contains five size 90/14 needles; Blue Tip is a separate size 75/11 option.
