Standard plastic-headed pins can become a nuisance when pressing near a pinned seam. Cool Pins use large nylon heads designed to tolerate normal pressing within their rated temperature, while the bright blue colour makes every pin easier to locate and remove.

Cool Pins are made to handle pressing temperatures that would be unsuitable for many ordinary plastic pinheads. Match the iron setting to both the fabric and the pin rating, then keep the iron moving normally.
Use a temperature suitable for the fabric and no higher than the official 176°C / 350°F pin-head rating.
Press as normal, but do not park or rest the soleplate directly on a pinhead.
Try the pin and pressing method on scrap first when working with silk, coated fabric or a finish that marks easily.
Heat resistance does not make a pin safe to sew over. Remove every pin before the machine needle reaches it.
Important temperature note: some irons can exceed 176°C / 350°F at high settings. Heat resistant does not mean unlimited heatproof, so stay within the official rating and never leave the iron resting on a pinhead.
