Not permanent fusible web: freezer paper is a removable template and stencil aid. It is not designed to remain inside the finished project or permanently bond two fabric layers.
A simple five-step template method
Print or trace, cut, press, shape and peel
Always test the paper, fabric and iron combination on a scrap first. Fabric fibre, finish, dye and the chosen applique technique determine the safest temperature and pressing time.
Add the design
Draw, trace or inkjet print the motif on the matte paper side. Check scale before using multiple sheets.
Cut the paper template
Cut accurately on the template line using paper scissors or another suitable craft cutting tool.
Place coated side down
Position the coated side against the fabric, usually on the wrong side for a prepared applique template.
Press and cut the fabric
Follow the fibre's care limits and your applique method. Add the required seam allowance if the edge will be turned.
Peel and save
Allow the piece to cool, peel the paper away carefully and store the template flat for another matching shape.

Keep coating off the iron

What does 54# mean?
54# is the manufacturer's paper-weight specification and identifies this as the heavy-weight version. A GSM conversion is not stated because paper conversions depend on the basis used.
Which side do I draw or print on?
Draw, trace or inkjet print on the matte paper side. The coated, shinier side goes against the fabric.
Can it go through a printer?

Can I use a laser printer?
