Battistella Maia | Industrial two-iron steam generator

One boiler. Two EOS irons. Two operators moving at once.

Create two productive pressing positions from one compact floor-standing steam generator. The Battistella Maia combines a 5L stainless boiler, automatic water-level control and two independently switched EOS irons so each operator can work without waiting for a shared iron.

  • Two 800W EOS steam irons supplied as standard for a genuine two-person pressing setup.
  • Independent iron switches let you run either station alone or both together.
  • 5L stainless boiler with 3-bar working pressure provides a shared professional steam source.
  • 48W pump and electronic water-level control manage water delivery to the boiler.
  • Slim wheeled format fits neatly between or beside two pressing tables.

Turn one steam source into two work positions

Keep both sides of the workroom productive

01

Two people can press

Place an EOS iron at each pressing table so two operators can complete finishing and touch-up work from the same generator.

02

Each iron works independently

Separate on/off control means the second iron can stay ready for another operator or remain switched off when only one station is needed.

03

One organised steam system

A single slim boiler unit reduces duplicated equipment and keeps the shared steam source neatly positioned beside the work area.

Automatic water management

The pump looks after boiler level while you focus on the finish

Maia combines a 48W feed pump with electronic water-level control. Once connected to the chosen distilled-water supply, the system manages boiler replenishment without treating the pressurised boiler like a manual-fill unit. Automatic pressure control then regulates the working steam supply.

Where Maia earns its place

Ideal for shared, stop-and-start pressing throughout the day

Alteration shops

Let two team members finish repairs, hems and adjustments without queuing for one iron.

Tailoring workrooms

Support construction pressing and final touch-ups at neighbouring workstations.

Costume departments

Keep separate pressing positions ready for fittings, changes and garment preparation.

Retail finishing

Share professional boiler steam across two operators preparing garments for presentation.

A practical two-station workflow

Connect, heat and press from either side

1

Position

Place Maia upright on a level surface where both iron hoses can reach their pressing stations safely.

2

Connect water

Set up the pump intake with the selected distilled-water supply and keep the feed available.

3

Start the boiler

Switch on the generator and allow its water-level and pressure controls to prepare the steam supply.

4

Select irons

Switch on one EOS iron for a single operator or both irons when two pressing positions are needed.

5

Prime + press

When ready, point each iron safely away and release several short steam bursts before pressing.

What comes with Maia

The essentials for a twin-iron installation

5L

Stainless boiler unit

Floor-standing 5L steam generator with 2kW boiler element and 3-bar working pressure.

Two EOS steam irons

Two 800W irons are listed by Battistella as standard equipment with Maia.

I / II

Independent iron controls

Each iron has its own on/off switch for flexible one- or two-station operation.

48

Built-in feed pump

48W pump supports water transfer into the pressurised boiler.

AUTO

Water-level control

Electronic monitoring works with the pump to manage boiler water level.

Mobile cabinet

Slim 20kg housing on castors makes the shared generator easier to position.

Water-supply note: Battistella lists a dedicated water tank as an optional accessory, not standard Maia equipment. Ask Direct Sewing about the preferred distilled-water feed arrangement for your installation and whether you would like a dedicated tank added.

Water care + confident ownership

Use distilled water and flush the boiler weekly

Protect the boiler, pump and steam path

Distilled water helps minimise residue from minerals and treatment chemicals found in tap water.

  • Use distilled water for the connected supply.
  • Keep water available to the pump during operation; do not allow the feed to run dry.
  • Never add fragrance, starch, special ironing water or chemical treatments.
  • Drain and flush the boiler once a week.
  • Drain only when the generator is cold, unplugged and the pressure gauge reads 0 bar.
  • Wait at least one hour after switching off before draining.

Plan the installation well

Maia is rated at 230V / 50Hz and contains a 2kW boiler, two 800W irons and a 48W pump. Confirm the supplied plug and suitable site connection with Direct Sewing before installation.

  • Connect directly to a correctly earthed supply suitable for the complete unit.
  • Avoid multi-boxes and unsuitable extension leads.
  • Route both steam hoses so operators can move freely without pulling or snagging.
  • Return each hot iron to a heat-resistant rest whenever it is not in hand.
  • Do not move the generator while it is hot, operating or pressurised.

Frequently asked questions

Battistella Maia FAQs

Can two people use the Maia at the same time?

Yes. Maia is supplied with two EOS irons and is designed so two operators can press from the shared steam generator at the same time.

Do both irons have to be switched on?

No. Each iron has its own on/off switch, so you can use one station by itself or switch on both when two operators are working.

Are both EOS irons included?

Yes. Battistella lists two 800W EOS irons as standard equipment for the Maia steam generator.

Is the dedicated water tank included?

No dedicated tank is listed as standard equipment. Battistella classifies the water tank as an optional accessory, so confirm the preferred supply arrangement with Direct Sewing when ordering.

Does Maia refill the boiler automatically?

Maia has a 48W feed pump and electronic boiler water-level control. Once correctly connected to its water supply, these systems manage water delivery to the boiler.

Is 5L the amount of water I pour into the unit?

5L is the published stainless boiler vessel capacity. Maia uses a pump and electronic water-level control, so set up and operate the water feed as directed rather than manually filling the vessel to 5L.

What type of work suits the Maia?

It is especially well suited to two-person alteration, tailoring, costume and retail-finishing work where operators use steam in intervals for construction pressing, garment presentation and touch-ups.

What water should I use?

Use distilled water to minimise minerals and treatment chemicals entering the boiler and pump. Do not add fragrance, starch, ironing additives or other treatments.

How often should the boiler be drained?

Drain and flush it once a week. The generator must be cold and unplugged, the gauge must read 0 bar, and at least one hour should have passed since switch-off.

What electrical connection does Maia need?

The published supply is 230V / 50Hz. Because Maia combines a 2kW boiler, two 800W irons and a pump, confirm the supplied plug and suitable site connection with Direct Sewing before installation.
